The Biomedical Lab Science event is a Health Professions Event for a single competitor. Please be sure to check the short sheet guidelines which tell you how to prepare for these events, as well as, the Montana Gotta Have It list which informs you of the equipment you are responsible for bringing to SLC.
Virtual SLC Competition Information:
1. A “mystery skill(s)” will be announced on January 25, 2021 in which competitors will be asked to film a video of themselves performing one-two of the technical skills from the skills rubric. Along with the “mystery skill” tips for how to record and instructions for uploading the video will be released. Competitors should continue to follow all guidelines required including proper dress and professional interactions with their patient and judges. Deadline to submit the video is February 12, 2021.
2. The technical skill video above will be used as a qualifier to sit for the online test. The online testing window is February 22- March 5, 2021. New to Virtual SLC- the online test will include the regular multiple choice items, as well as, the possibility on being tested on identification of equipment from the skills rubric. A scenario based essay question may also be asked to use as a tie breaker for the event. The essay question and video may be used as a tie breaker while the multiple choice test and any identification questions asked during the test as part of the skills rubric will be the main component of the event scoring.
