Legislative Action
We are pleased to report that HB-382 has passed the MT House of Representatives, and is currently in transit to the Senate. It has its first hearing with the Senate Education & Cultural Resources Committee Wednesday April 12th at 3:00pm. We thank you all for your diligent advocacy toward this legislation. While this has passed the House of Representatives, there is still work to be done.
Written testimony and advocacy are vital. Legislators are very busy, and the session is quickly approaching closure. To that end, we ask you:
- Please be as concise and respectful as possible.
- Please speak to HB-382 and how this legislation will further serve the industry and students.
An easy way to do this is to use these links to sign your respective letters of support for MT HB 382. Signing these letters is simple and easy… 30 seconds and done!
Please add your area of residence to the comments section so that senators can see if you’re from their district. Feel free to leave a comment telling your personal story with HOSA and the positive experience it has had on your life- including how this program adds value and real life experience preparing students to enter the workforce and be successful in their college/career programs.
We also ask that you please write your respective Representatives thanking them for their strong support in the bipartisan passing of HB-382. As you will agree, advocacy includes the follow-up of appreciation and recognition of the efforts of these representatives.

"HOSA provided me with the skills to start my medical career. I used my skills from my EMT course and HOSA to get a job as an ER tech in my local emergency department while my college was online due to COVID-19. I couldn't have gotten the job or been successful without HOSA. I learned important teamwork skills, how to work under pressure, and critical thinking that I use everyday in working."
